Page 23 from last week and 24 from this week!

This marks the official conclusion of Volume 1. *cheer* Also, the printed version is almost complete--I'll have details soon on how you can get ahold of that. I also plan on buying the first copy to give it a final look-through and make sure nothing important was clipped. As soon as I have that and I'm satisfied with it, I'll put up advertising so you can nab a copy.

The last two weeks have been... much of the unhappy. Field work sucks when you don't get weekends or hardly any time to rest after you're done. Therefore, not much art was completed, sadly. The next few pages should go pretty quickly I hope, and there are a few scenes in Chapter 7 I'm looking forward to.

Vote incentive this week is another character from Shishin. He's a tanuki... or as Rone likes to describe them, 'testicle badger'. Go watch Pom Poko and you'll know what I mean. I don't usually do anthropomorphic characters anymore, but I thought that the setting was appropriate for it.

Internet Withdrawls

Found myself a computer out here in the middle of nowhere. Ahahahha!! THE INTERNET EXISTS! IT'S AMAZING!

And I'm glad to find that Rone was able to update for me... even though I completely spaced making new files for her like I said I would... and realized it about 5 minutes after I left.

Field camp is sucking quite a bit. I've been working out in the field for... 11 days straight now, and I've got one more to go. Not even a weekend break in the middle. So, I've been having dreams about stomping geophones into the ground and laying cable. Not been sleeping so well... and 6am comes too early.

I'll have the next page up and ready on Monday. Hopefully I'll survive till then.

Um, I'm about halfway done with formatting the pages for print. All I need now is a suitable cover and some more insert art. I'm excited. Books should be available.... in June sometime I guess. Cost will be right around $10, plus shipping (lowest of which is right around $2.50). Not too shabby methinks.

Well, wish me luck that I don't die out in the field. Ah, the work of a geophysicsist is never done.

Page 21! This one ended up heavier on the tones than I was expecting... Confused yet? That's the idea. Bwahahaha. Ahem. Anyway, the next update will occur early next Sunday since I will be heading out for field camp that afternoon. Wheee. Update for the 22nd will be sometime the 19th or 20th--Rone's taking over uploading it for me! So, you get page... and that's about it.

Finals week = blah. However, in the free time I set aside for not study time I got the rest of the chapter completely finished. As in they're all set and ready to go. Which is really good for you, because even when I'm totally swamped by field work, you get updates. This puts the end of the volume at May 29th. I'm shooting to have the printed version available sometime in June.

Yes, printed version! Chock full of about 160 pages of 6"x9" goodness. Pages of comic (which might end up a little different from the web version because of bleed issues), several exclusive illustrations that will only be available in the printed version... among other things. Only $10 + shipping. How's that sound? Tasty? I think so, too.
