Hiatus

My grandmother passed away suddenly, early this morning. I'm writing this from home... we're all kind of a mess right now--it was really sudden. I'm going on temporary hiatus until I've had time to mourn.

I know you all will understand.

Moving to Tuesday/Friday updates for the rest of the semester. Homework load and extracurriculars make it difficult for me to update on Wednesday night...

Trying some new stuff with drawing my own word bubbles... I need some practice getting the shapes right (I messed up on the double balloon in panel 2...), but I overall like the outcome. I'm also pleased with only using three main tones... though I may change the gradient tone to something a little different... Admittedly, the time consumed in toning has decreased dramatically, and it looks much more consistent from page to page now.

So yeah, went and had a life on Sunday night before finishing my page... oh well. Got it done tonight instead. Up a little later than was originally planning, but hey...

Back to two pages a week. I'm not sure how long I can keep this up, but I'm going to try!! This page was pretty simple... being a cover and all... but the pencils took me FOREVER! Originally, I'd had bigger plans for this page, but nothing wanted to turn out... so I left a lot of space. Actually, now that I'm done with it, I'm glad I did. Nice and simple.

Anyway, I'm now more than halfway done with SF... kind of exciting, but at the same time, it has taken me... 5 years to get here. I'd prefer to take less time than that on this half, but... that's life. I'm busy... eternally busy.

Speaking of busy, I should get going. I have shitloads of paperwork to fill out so I can get paid for my teaching assistantship... whee.

Well, we're gonna try returning to a two pages/week update schedule. I'm not sure how well I'll be able to keep up, but I'm going to try. I think my next challenge, aside from actually drawing the pages, is to get further in scripting... Also, this page marks the official HALF WAY point of the story. Go me.

Been a long week... and I forsee this being a very long semester. Next semester too, for that matter. I have a lot of extracurriculars and whatnot to keep up with on top of TA'ing and research! Should be good... but hard.

Anyway, the page for Thursday is penciled and pretty simple... I just need to get my butt in gear and get some more pages done!!

Vote incentive this week is a character from my boyfriend's story, "Tensai." I'll be posting some sketches I've done for him all this month as incentives. ^^
